So I have had this thing set up forever now with the intentions of keeping my out-of-town family [and really for anyone] posted of things that are going on with us, and I have never got to it. Thanks to my good friend Erin starting hers, I decided to finally start mine up!
We have had a great start to a new year so far. We spent New Year's Eve in Tennessee with my moms family. We had a great time, and it even snowed a little while we were there. We got to visit with my 2nd cousin Brett, his wife Jana and their 2 girls Meredith and Emma, who we hadnt seen since my PaPa's side Family Reunion while Brett was overseas. We had a great time as we always do up there!
When we got back it was back to the real world and Kaiden and I were not very excited about it since we had been out of school/work for 12 days! It was a great break, but we needed back into our routine! We were back to school for 4 days and then thats when the great "Blizzard" hit us! We got almost an inch and had so much fun playing in it! We could not make it to work because our road was a solid sheet of ice. Normally if we get any kind of snow it melts by the next morning so when we woke up that Saturday morning and saw the snow we were very surprised to see that it was still there...and even more surprised that it didnt fully melt all the way for a couple days...the roads were better by Monday so we made it to work and got back on our normal schedule.
This past weekend Cody took me away for my birthday and also for our first ever weekend away from Kaiden. We had a great time, but really missed Kaiden. We got up there late Friday night and then on Saturday we got up and went and ate breakfast and then went to Pigeon Forge and met my mom, step dad, brother, brothers girlfriend and little sister for a little shopping. After we left shopping we went back to Townsend and drove up to Cades Cove...we love driving through there, and Cody loves walking around up there. It was a gorgeous day so we stopped a lot and walked the trails..it was a lot of fun. I normally have to sit in the car with Kaiden so this was the first time I got to actually walk around. Saturday night Cody took me to dinner at Tony Romas...it was DELICIOUS!!! Sunday we got up and couldnt get home to our little man fast enough. It was a nice weekend getaway and we needed our us time...but it was hard to be away from Kaiden.
Ok...enough rambling for now..tomorrows my birthday---woohoo the big 2-2!
